A circuit trek starts right from Besisahar, Lamjung. From the Marshyandi River, and goes up to the Thorung La Pass (5,416 meters) the highest pass of the trek, with great views of Manaslu and Himal Chuli in the distance. The magnificent trek leads you to a fine village with people from diverse ethnic groups; the scenery is equally stunning, offering a spectacular view of the white Himalayas.

Annapurna Circuit and Tilicho Lake Trek begins

Day 4: Trek Chame to Ghyaru

Chame is the capital of Manang and is a stunningly beautiful small town. At Chame, I felt colder today than the others since we were climbing attitudes. We trek through dense forest, Marsyangdi River on the side, and beautiful panoramic views of meadows, huge rocks and mountains.

Day 5: Ghayru to Manang

We stayed of a night in the beautiful steep hillside village Gharyu. It was on the top and you could see the mighty Annapurna directly in front of us. We found the local too friendly, and they prepared us local food. Nights were shivering, our trek to Manang took us through hills, forests, wetlands, beautiful landscapes, and stupas we saw along the way.

Day 6: Manang to Khangsar

Manang is the last small-town in the region. We reached Manang at 2 pm and rested all day. Later that night, we wandered around the village. The next morning, we went to the lake and started our journey toward Tilicho Lake. Manang is the last town for supplies and items needed for the Annapurna Circuit and Tilicho Lake Trek itinerary.

Day 7: Kangsar to Tilicho Lake return to Kangsar

In the morning at 5 we left for Tilicho lake. There were steep hills, barren land, and few guesthouses (not more than 5). The terrain was difficult, and the landslide trail was the most dangerous part on our Annapurna Circuit and Tilicho Lake Trek Itinerary.

Day 9: Thorung Phedi to Thourung Pass (5,416m) to Muktinath

My friends couldn’t make it to Thorang Phedi instead they stayed 3 Hours down the hill. I thought climbing without them and woke up at 3 next morning, had breakfast and hiked for Thorang pass. Trekkers should be aware of the weather condition, strong winds, and the fact that everyone reaches summit around 10 in the morning.  It is the most challenging part of the Annapurna Circuit and Tilicho Lake Trek itinerary. Take precautions to avoid altitude sickness.

Day 10: Muktinath (Rest Day)

Muktinath is a sacred site and Muktinath Temple is famous among the Hindus and Buddhists. There were many pilgrimages around the temple. We walked around the area with my new friends. We had a good time at the Bob Marley hotel, the local bar, and on our Annapurna Circuit and Tilicho Lake Trek Itinerary.

Day 11: Muktinath to Tatopani

This day I hiked for some time and then took a bus. I could see dry and barren land, apple orchards, gorge and beautiful landscape. I bought some Apple brandy at Marpha (near Jomsom), which is famous in this area. The next day I had to return to Kathmandu, so I could not finish the trek. Tatopani is famous for hot spring and the best place to take a rest after such a long trek.
